Fighting Growing Crimes Against Women:
Women’s safety is not only of prime importance but is one of the most vital yardsticks to measure the greatness of a society. One can safely say our record on this front is far from anything to boast about. Our exposes on rising chain-snatching cases as well as unsolved rape cases forced the police to install CCTV cameras across Mumbai. We also brought to the fore how the Women’s Commission is unable to give any justice to thousands of victims approaching them. Similarly, the special cell of police to fight crime against women could not register a single conviction to its credit. Highlighting these issues forced the state to take them seriously.
